Excellent condition, given its age.
The 1967 Fender Pro Reverb is a highly regarded 40-watt, 2x12 Black Panel combo amplifier known as a more manageable, "saggier" alternative to the Twin Reverb. Featuring tube-driven spring reverb and tremolo, it produces a warm, gritty overdrive at lower volumes, making it ideal for club-sized gigs and studio work.
Key Features and Characteristics (1967 Model):
- Circuitry & Power: 40 watts driven by dual 6L6 power tubes with a tube rectifier, allowing for earlier breakup compared to a Twin Reverb.
- Speakers: Typically equipped with two 12-inch speakers (Jensen), which contribute to a "3D" and articulate sound.
- Channels: Two channels (Normal and Bright/Reverb).
- Sound: Renowned for classic Fender "Blackface" cleans and a smooth, musical overdrive.
- Construction: Part of the early CBS-era "blackface" period (post-January 1965), generally featuring black Tolex, silver sparkle grille cloth, and blue-backed speakers.
- Weight: Considered a lighter, more portable alternative to the Twin Reverb.
Often described as a "gigging musician's dream," the 1967 Pro Reverb strikes a balance between the power of a Super Reverb and the manageable volume of a Deluxe Reverb.
