This Ovation Eclipse 1235-5 is a rare, vintage hollowbody electric guitar produced for a very brief period between 1968 and 1973 as part of Ovation’s "Storm" series. It is most famous for its unconventional use of Lyrachord, the same aerospace-grade material used for the rounded backs of Ovation’s acoustic guitars, which covers the entire body in a textured black finish.

• Body & Finish: A thinline, double-cutaway hollowbody design featuring dual F-holes. The finish is a unique textured black Lyrachord (sometimes referred to as "Polane" or bowl enamel), which is highly durable and gives the guitar a distinctive look.
• Neck: A bolt-on hardrock maple neck with an ebony fingerboard. It typically features 21 to 23 frets and mother-of-pearl dot inlays.
