Used Traynor YBA1 Bass Amplifier Head

The Traynor YBA1 Mod 1 Bass Amplifier Head is an all-tube, 40-watt head that builds on the classic YBA-1 Bass Master design, incorporating modern updates like a built-in attenuator and versatile channel blending options. It is often described as having a vintage Marshall Plexi-like tone but at a more affordable price. 

Key Features

• All-Tube Design: The amplifier features three hand-selected 12AX7 preamp tubes and two EL34 power tubes in a Class-AB design, delivering a rich, warm, and dynamic sound.
• Output Attenuator: A key feature of the Mod 1 is the built-in output attenuator located on the rear panel, which allows the user to control the master volume while preserving the overdriven tone of the power tubes. The five power settings are:
• 40 watts (full power for gigging)
• 20 watts
• 5 watts
• 1.0 watt
• 0.5 watts (suitable for studio or "bedroom" volumes)
• Versatile Channels: It has two separate input channels, each with its own gain and character. The channels can be run in parallel, or the Channel Two Volume pot can be pulled out to run both channels in series for additional gain and a thicker, higher-gain tone, with the Channel Two Volume acting as a master volume in this mode.
• Tone Controls: The shared tone controls include traditional Treble and Bass knobs, plus "Range Expanders" (Low and High) that function as Mid and Presence controls, offering enhanced tonal dimension and versatility.
