The MGR staff are excited (!) to announce that we have a Rickenbacker 4003 bass for sale. Excellent condition.

These rarely-sighted beasts are an absolute pleasure to see in real time.

The Rickenbacker 4003 Bass is a 4-string, 20-fret, solid maple-bodied bass with a maple inlaid fingerboard, and a 33.25" scale length. It features a stereo output, two single-coil "toaster" pickups, a three-way toggle switch, and dual volume/tone controls for flexible sound shaping. Ric O Sound stereo and normal mono outputs are featured.

• Body and neck: Solid maple body and maple neck
• Fretboard: Rosewood with 20 frets and triangular inlays
• Scale length: 33.25" (84.5 cm)
• Pickups: Two Rickenbacker single-coil pickups
• Controls: Dual volume and tone knobs, a three-way toggle switch, and a push-pull switch on the treble tone control for vintage/modern settings
• Output: Mono and stereo (Ric-O-Sound) outputs
• Machine heads: Schaller Deluxe 

• Standard vs. stereo output: Most users opt for the standard mono output, but the stereo "Ric-O-Sound" allows for routing each pickup to a separate amplifier for increased tonal flexibility.
• Vintage circuit switch: The push-pull switch on the treble tone control engages a capacitor that rolls off bass for a twangier, more vintage sound.
• Pickup configuration: The two single-coil pickups provide a brighter, clearer sound compared to humbuckers, which is important to note if you need to play near unshielded electronics.
