The Browne Amplification "Protein" is a dual-overdrive guitar effects pedal featuring two independent overdrive circuits in one enclosure. It was developed through a collaboration between Browne Amplification founder Dave Brown and Nashville session guitarist Adam Sniegowski.

• The Protein is essentially two distinct, non-Tube Screamer-style overdrive pedals that can be used separately or stacked together for a "third channel" sound.
• "Blue" side: This side is inspired by a 1990s Marshall Bluesbreaker circuit, delivering a warm, lower-gain, and open-sounding overdrive. The circuit has been modified for increased output and touch sensitivity compared to the original.
• "Green" side: This side is based on the Nobels ODR-1, a classic "Nashville" overdrive, but has been modified by Browne Amplification. It has a tweaked gain sweep,
