The MXR M80 Bass D.I.+ is a dual-channel, analog floorboard preamp and direct box that offers versatile tone-shaping capabilities for both live performances and studio recording. It provides a clean channel with 3-band EQ and a footswitchable distortion channel with a blend control and an adjustable noise gate. 

Key Features and Controls

• Dual Channels: The pedal features separate clean and distortion channels, each with independent volume controls.
• 3-Band EQ: A master 3-band EQ section (Bass, Mid, Treble) allows for comprehensive tone sculpting for both channels.
• Color Switch: This switch engages a preset EQ curve that scoops the mids and adds punch and definition, which many users find enhances their core tone. The color circuit is automatically engaged when the distortion channel is active.
• Distortion Control: The distortion channel has controls for Gain (amount of distortion), Volume, and Blend (mixes the clean and distorted signals to retain low-end clarity).
• Noise Gate: A built-in, adjustable noise gate with a "Trigger" knob (only active for the distortion channel) helps eliminate hum and hiss, especially at high-gain settings, while maintaining sustain.
• Connectivity: Professional routing options include a 1/4" instrument input, a 1/4" output to an amplifier, a parallel 1/4" output for a tuner or sending a dry signal to a DAW, and an XLR direct output to send a balanced signal directly to a PA system or recording console.
