The Marshall 1987x (50-watt Plexi reissue) is an excellent, high-quality amplifier, offering iconic, loud, and dynamic classic rock tones similar to vintage 1960s models. It breaks up earlier than 100-watt counterparts, making it more practical for gigs, and includes a modern, useful effects loop. It is highly regarded as a top-tier pedal platform. 

This beautiful Plexi delivers the classic Marshall 'krang" tone. Simple controls, easy to dial in your tone.

The Marshall 1987X is a 50-watt, UK-made, two-channel "Plexi" reissue head (circa late 90s–present) designed to emulate the classic 1970s rock tone. It features

2 × EL34 power tubes, 3 × 12AX7 preamp tubes, and a distinctive, non-master volume, organic, and highly responsive valve tone. 

Key Features and Characteristics: 

• Tone: Known for a thick, warm, and articulate sound with a "rock" feel, featuring a strong, natural breakup that works well with pedals.
• Channels/Inputs: The amp has two channels—Normal and High Treble—with four inputs (high/low sensitivity), allowing for channel bridging/jumpering to blend sounds.
• Controls: Simple EQ layout (Presence, Bass, Middle, Treble) and Volume controls for each channel.
• Effects Loop: Unlike the original 1960s units, this modern 1987X reissue includes a series FX loop, which can be bypassed.
