The Hot Rod Deluxe III is a 40-watt, 1x12" tube combo amplifier known as a staple for gigging musicians. The "III" (Version 3) update introduced several improvements over the original Mexican-made versions: 

• Speaker: Upgraded to a 12-inch Celestion G12P-80, which provides a tighter low end and clearer tone.
• Control Panel: Updated to a black, front-reading panel with white lettering, making it easier to read on dark stages.
• Electronics: Updated preamp circuitry for a "tighter" overdrive sound.
• Tapers: Graduated volume and treble pot tapers for more gradual control.
• Power/Preamp Tubes: 2 x 6L6 (power) and 3 x 12AX7 (preamp).
• Channels: Three switchable channels: Normal, Drive, and "More Drive".
• Reverb: Fender spring reverb.
• Cabinet: 7-ply 3/4" Birch/Maple Plywood.
