Fender introduced the unique "JFFL" prefix exclusively for modern Japanese production runs built by the renowned Fujigen factory.

The Aerodyne Special Series is a contemporary, high-performance reinterpretation of classic Fender designs. Rather than trying to emulate vintage 1950s or 60s guitars, these models feature sleek, aerodynamic aesthetics and modernized hardware.

• Sleek, Bound Body: Unlike standard Stratocasters that feature heavily contoured comfort carves and an edge-to-edge radius, Aerodyne Stratocasters have a distinctly slim, slightly curved top with clean, premium cream or white body binding.

• Tonewoods: To match its streamlined look and maintain a comfortable weight, the body is typically crafted from Basswood. The neck is sturdy Maple featuring either a Maple or Rosewood fingerboard.

• Modern Playability: It departs from vintage specs by using a 12-inch fingerboard radius (much flatter than vintage 7.25" or standard 9.5" radiuses), which is highly favored by players for fast soloing, modern techniques, and seamless string bending without "choking out."
