The LICHTLAERM AUDIO Medusa Death Metal Distortion is an expanded, modernized take on the classic Swedish "chainsaw" (HM-2) sound. It offers three times the gain and immensely higher output than the original, featuring a built-in Blackmer-VCA noise gate, a parallel FX loop, and a 4-band active EQ.

• Lichtlaerm-proprietary “Cut” Control: Tightens up your low-end, allowing you to get punchy, articulate palm-mutes—even in drop tunings.
• Extended EQ: A 4-band active EQ with parametric mids (± 16 dB), a "Grind" knob to blend dual-peaked mid-ranges, and an active shelving Presence filter.
• Integrated Noise Gate: Features Lichtlaerm's "Key & The Gate" circuit using Blackmer VCAs to keep the signal dead-quiet when you stop playing.
