This Ibanez Artist AS-80CH is a highly regarded, semi-hollow body electric guitar built in August 1987 at the world-renowned FujiGen factory in Japan. The "CH" suffix explicitly denotes its iconic Cherry finish.

The is designed as a high-quality alternative to traditional thinline guitars like the Gibson ES-335. Because this is the 1987 model, it represents the final, highly refined year of the original Japanese production run before the model was temporarily discontinued.

• Body & Construction: Semi-hollow design featuring a laminated maple top, back, and sides. It includes a solid, hard rock maple center block to increase sustain and eliminate high-gain feedback.

• Neck: A sturdy, set-in maple neck paired with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. It is accented with clean pearl dot position markers and elegant ivory multi-binding around the body and neck.

• Pickups: Loaded with a pair of legendary Ibanez Super 58 humbuckers with chrome covers. These are highly prized by players for delivering warm, expressive, and balanced vintage tones perfect for jazz, blues, and rock.

• Hardware: Equipped with a heavy-duty Tune-o-matic style Gibraltar II bridge and a Quik Change II tailpiece, making string changes fast and painless. It also utilizes proprietary smooth-turn machine heads.

After an extensive clean up, set up and replacement of some required parts, this guitar is is in very good condition overall, the pickups are exceptional, the body shows a few cosmetics dings. A great player - plugged into a clean amp with a good quality speaker cabinet, the bottom end generated from the pickups is strikingly beautiful... with gain this guitar also sounds amazing. This instrument is one of the nicest examples of complementary craftsmanship in our store.
