The PRS SE Mikael Åkerfeldt Signature is a highly distinct, professional-grade import guitar. It is modeled after a unique 24-fret single-cut Modern Eagle prototype custom-built for Åkerfeldt. It is visually striking due to its rich Tortoise Shell finish over a prominent flamed maple veneer, contrasting beautifully with a gold-embossed Opeth "O" logo positioned right behind the bridge. This model was notable for being one of the very first SE instruments to include premium USA-style features like an ebony fretboard and original PRS bird inlays.

Additionally, the back of the 3-piece maple neck features a raw satin matte finish, uniquely requested by Åkerfeldt to guarantee smooth, fast playability compared to fully lacquered necks.
