Description

This MXR EVH Modern High Gain Pedal is a high-gain guitar distortion stompbox designed in collaboration with Eddie Van Halen to emulate the aggressive Red Lead channel of the EVH 5150III amplifier.

• Sound Profile: Delivers searing, high-saturation modern distortion with sharp note definition and crushing sustain.
• Amp Emulation: Captures the 3rd (Red) channel of the EVH 5150III head in a compact enclosure.

• Gate Knob: Engages the built-in noise gate (illuminates blue when active) to clamp down on noise and silence during high-gain playing.
• Output Knob: Adjusts the overall master volume of the effect.
• Gain Knob: Controls the amount of distortion and saturation.
• 3-Band EQ: Dedicated Bass, Mid, and Treble knobs for precision tonal shaping.
• Bass Shift Switch (55Hz / 80Hz): Toggles the low-end cutoff frequency; the 80Hz setting tightens up the low end, while the 55Hz setting unleashes a fatter, ultra-low-end attack.
• Boost Switch: Adds extra front-end and final-stage gain for uncompressed clipping, extra sustain, and a volume kick.
• Footswitch: Toggles effect on/bypass (indicated by a red LED)
