Used MXR BLUE BOX Octave Pedal

Description

This MXR M103 Blue Box is an analog octave fuzz guitar effects pedal known for its chaotic, subterranean, 8-bit/synth-like low-end tones. It takes your guitar signal, applies a high-gain fuzz, and drops it two octaves down.

Description & Sound Profile

• How it works: It processes a monophonic guitar signal (best played single-note, as chords will confuse the tracking) and mixes the fuzz with a double-sub-octave effect.
•

• Famous usage: Most famously heard on the guitar solo of Led Zeppelin's "Fool in the Rain" by Jimmy Page.
•

• Character: Unpredictable, glitchy, and ratty; the blend knob changes the ratio between the fuzz and the two-octave-down subharmonic.

Controls

• Output: Sets the overall volume/gain of the pedal.
•

• Blend: Adjusts the mix between the fuzz tone and the two-octaves-down sub-octave signal.
•

• Footswitch: Toggles the effect on or into bypass mode (indicated by a red LED)
