The Korg Volca Drum is a compact, digital percussion synthesizer powered by DSP analog modeling. It features a six-part engine with two layers per part, a unique waveguide resonator, and a 16-step sequencer with motion automation, running on batteries or an optional power supply.

Core Sound Engine

• 6-Part / 2-Layer Structure: Each of the six parts combines two layers using sine, sawtooth, or filtered noise waveforms.
• Wavefolder & Overdrive: Adds metallic overtones, grit, and harmonic distortion.
• Waveguide Resonator: Employs physical modeling to add tube or string sympathetic resonances.

Sequencing and Control

• 16-Step Sequencer: Allows quick pattern programming with a touch-sensitive trigger/step keyboard.
• Motion Sequencing: Records knob movements and parameter changes into the pattern loop.
• Active Step & Slice: Generates dynamic stutter effects, rolls, and irregular meter lengths.

Hardware and Connectivity

• Portable Design: Includes a built-in speaker and compartment for six AA batteries.
