The Paiste 302 13-inch Hi-Hat pair is an entry-level cymbal set designed primarily for beginner drummers and practice situations. The 302 series, introduced in 1993 and discontinued in 2003, along with the subsequent 302 Plus series (2003-2005), were crafted from a MS63 brass alloy. This alloy is known for being affordable and easy to work with. 

In terms of sound, these hi-hats are described as producing a bright, crisp, and clean "chick" sound when played closed. They are considered to have a nice, even sound with the ability to deliver power when needed. While not regarded as having the same nuanced tonal properties as higher-end cymbals made from more expensive alloys like B20, the Paiste 302 is seen as a decent option for its price point. 

The 302 Plus model received a "Sonic Texture" treatment in 2003, When evaluating used cymbals, it's important to check for signs of wear like dents around the edges, but some sellers emphasize that their used 302s are fully functional
