Used Warm Audio WA-8000 Tube Condenser Microphone

Description

The Warm Audio WA-8000 is a premium large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone designed around the sound and architecture of one of the most sought-after modern studio vocal microphones. Built for polished, detailed recording, the WA-8000 delivers an open top end, substantial low-frequency response, and the smooth tube character that makes this style of microphone particularly desirable for professional vocal production.

At the center of the WA-8000 is a 6AU6 tube-based circuit, paired with a large-diaphragm capsule and transformer-coupled electronics. Its distinctive external heat-sink assembly helps manage heat generated by the tube and is also one of the microphone's most recognizable visual features.

In the studio, the WA-8000 is particularly well suited for lead vocals, rap and hip-hop vocals, R&B, pop, voice-over, acoustic guitar, piano, strings, and other sources where clarity and detail are important. Its polished high-frequency response can help vocals sit prominently in a modern production, while the tube circuitry adds harmonic character and body.

The WA-8000 provides cardioid and omnidirectional polar patterns, increasing its usefulness beyond close vocal recording. Cardioid is a natural choice when isolation is important, while omni can be useful for capturing a more open sound, room ambience, ensemble performances, or sources where proximity effect is undesirable.

Because the WA-8000 is a tube microphone system, it requires its dedicated external power supply and appropriate multi-pin microphone cable for operation rather than conventional 48V phantom power alone. Please refer carefully to the photos to confirm the exact power supply, cable, shockmount, case, power cord, packaging, and other accessories included with this particular microphone.
