Used Ibanez SRSC806 6-String Modern Metal Bass

Description

The Ibanez SRSC806 is a modern 6-string electric bass built for players who need extended range, fast playability, and a powerful contemporary sound. Part of Ibanez's Soundgear family, the SRSC806 combines the familiar slim SR feel with a single-cutaway body design, creating a distinctive instrument aimed at progressive, technical, and modern bass styles.

With six strings, the SRSC806 provides an extended register that works especially well for modern metal, progressive metal, fusion, gospel, R&B, technical rock, and solo bass playing. The additional low and high range gives players more options for heavy low-register riffs, chordal work, melodic passages, tapping, and arrangements that would be difficult to cover on a traditional four-string bass.

The SRSC platform is particularly notable for its neck-through construction and single-cut body architecture, which provide excellent access across the extended fingerboard while giving the instrument a substantial, performance-oriented feel. Its active electronics and dual-pickup configuration provide extensive tonal control for moving between deep lows, aggressive midrange attack, and articulate upper-register sounds.

For modern metal and progressive players, the SRSC806 is especially effective when clarity is needed under heavy distortion or dense guitar arrangements. Its extended range also makes it a strong candidate for lower-register riffing, technical fingerstyle work, tapping, and effects-heavy bass rigs.

In the studio, the SRSC806 can work exceptionally well directly into an interface, DI, or bass preamp, where its active electronics provide plenty of tonal flexibility before the signal reaches the DAW. It can also be combined with a miked bass cabinet or amp simulation for heavier productions requiring both low-end authority and definition.
