Used Crumar Performer Vintage Analog String Synthesizer

Description

The Crumar Performer is a classic vintage Italian analog keyboard known for its lush string and brass ensemble sounds and unmistakable late-1970s character. Built during the golden era of dedicated string machines, the Performer delivers the swirling, animated textures associated with vintage progressive rock, disco, funk, electronic music, ambient recordings, and cinematic soundtracks.

Rather than approaching synthesis like a conventional programmable polysynth, the Performer is designed around immediately playable ensemble voices. Its Strings and Brass sections can be used independently or blended together, giving musicians a fast way to move from silky string pads to brighter ensemble textures and layered orchestral-style sounds. The instrument's analog architecture and ensemble effects give it the movement and depth that have made original string machines desirable decades after their introduction.

The Performer is particularly effective for progressive rock, synth-pop, disco, funk, psychedelic music, ambient, electronic music, soundtrack work, and experimental production. Run it through phasers, delays, reverbs, tape-style effects, or other outboard processing and it becomes an excellent source for expansive vintage textures.

In a modern studio, the Crumar Performer can provide sounds that contrast beautifully with software instruments and modern digital synthesizers. It can be recorded directly through an interface or processed through pedals, amplifiers, preamps, and outboard effects for additional character. Producers looking for authentic vintage analog ensemble textures will find plenty of creative potential here.

As with any genuine vintage electronic instrument, exact originality and service history should not be assumed unless documented. Internal components, switches, sliders, power components, output circuitry, and other parts may have been serviced or replaced during the instrument's lifetime. Please use the photos to evaluate the exact configuration and cosmetic condition of this example.

Condition

This Crumar Performer is used, tested, and fully functional. It shows normal signs of wear consistent with the age of a vintage electronic instrument. Cosmetic wear may include scratches, scuffs, finish wear, oxidation, aging hardware, discoloration, or other age-related evidence of use.

Please refer carefully to the photos for the exact condition of the keyboard, keys, sliders, switches, control panel, chassis, end panels, output connections, power components, labeling, and overall cosmetics.
