Used Martin D-16E Acoustic-Electric Guitar

Description

The Martin D-16E Acoustic-Electric Guitar brings together the legendary sound of Martin's dreadnought design, premium acoustic craftsmanship, and modern amplified versatility. Built for players who appreciate rich acoustic tone, responsive dynamics, and professional performance capabilities, the D-16E is an excellent choice for singer-songwriters, performing musicians, recording artists, and acoustic guitar enthusiasts.

The D-16E features Martin's celebrated dreadnought body shape, known for its powerful projection, full-bodied bass response, warm midrange, and clear, articulate highs. This combination makes it particularly well suited for strong rhythm playing, expressive fingerpicking, and accompanying vocals. Whether you're strumming open chords, playing intricate acoustic passages, or performing solo, the D-16E delivers the unmistakable character associated with Martin guitars.

One of the appealing aspects of the D-16E is its combination of traditional acoustic character and modern playability. The 16 Series is designed to deliver professional-quality sound and construction in an instrument that feels comfortable and responsive. Its versatile tonal balance works beautifully across folk, country, bluegrass, Americana, worship, pop, and contemporary acoustic music.

The built-in electronics make this guitar especially practical for live performance. Players can connect to a compatible acoustic amplifier, DI box, or PA system for amplified sound without relying exclusively on an external microphone. This makes the D-16E an excellent instrument for coffeehouse performances, church services, songwriter showcases, and full-band acoustic arrangements.

In the recording studio, the Martin D-16E offers a strong foundation for acoustic rhythm tracks, fingerstyle arrangements, and singer-songwriter productions. Its dreadnought voice can be captured with microphones for natural acoustic detail, while the onboard electronics provide an additional direct-recording option.

With its classic Martin styling, commanding acoustic voice, and stage-ready versatility, the D-16E is an appealing choice for players looking for a serious acoustic-electric guitar that can handle rehearsals, recording sessions, and live performances.

Model note: Martin has offered different D-16E specifications across production periods, including variations in tonewoods, finishes, and electronics. The exact wood configuration, pickup/preamp system, production year, and included accessories should be verified from the instrument and photos.
