Used Paul Reed Smith PRS 245 USA Electric Guitar

Description

The Paul Reed Smith PRS 245 USA is a premium American-made electric guitar that combines the elegance and craftsmanship of PRS with the warm, powerful sound and comfortable feel of a shorter-scale instrument. Designed for players who appreciate vintage-inspired tone, expressive dynamics, and refined playability, the PRS 245 offers a distinctive alternative to traditional dual-humbucker solidbody guitars.

One of the defining characteristics of the PRS 245 is its 24.5-inch scale length. This shorter scale provides a slightly softer string feel than PRS's traditional 25-inch scale, making string bending, vibrato, and expressive lead playing especially comfortable. It also contributes to the guitar's warm, resonant tonal character.

The PRS 245 is built around a classic dual-humbucker configuration, offering thick rhythm tones, smooth leads, and rich clean sounds. Its vintage-inspired voice is especially appealing to guitarists who enjoy blues, classic rock, southern rock, jazz, and other styles where warmth, sustain, and dynamic response are essential.

Another standout feature is the guitar's traditional-style control layout, which gives players convenient control over their sound. The combination of independent pickup controls and a three-way selector allows for a wide variety of tones, from warm neck-pickup sounds to articulate bridge-pickup leads and balanced combinations.

The PRS 245's comfortable body contours, quality hardware, and American-made construction reflect the attention to detail that has made PRS a respected name among professional guitarists. Its combination of classic styling and modern craftsmanship makes it equally appealing for live performance, recording, and serious home playing.

In the studio, the PRS 245 excels at thick rhythm guitar tracks, expressive blues leads, warm clean passages, and vintage-inspired overdriven tones. Its shorter scale and humbucker-based sound make it a particularly good choice for players looking for a full-bodied guitar that responds naturally to picking dynamics.

Whether you're a longtime PRS enthusiast or a player searching for a professional American-made guitar with vintage-inspired character, the PRS 245 USA delivers a compelling combination of tone, comfort, sustain, and craftsmanship.

Model note: PRS has offered several 245-related models over the years, including different pickup, control, and hardware configurations. The exact model designation, production year, pickups, neck profile, body construction, and originality should be verified from the instrument and photos.
