Used KSD 6-String Electric Bass Guitar

Description

The KSD 6-String Electric Bass Guitar is a versatile, professional-style extended-range bass designed for players who want exceptional tonal flexibility, expanded musical possibilities, and the expressive feel of a six-string instrument. Associated with acclaimed bassist and designer Ken Smith, KSD basses have earned a following among musicians who appreciate articulate tone, modern styling, and performance-oriented design.

With its six-string configuration, this KSD bass offers an expanded playing range compared to traditional four- and five-string basses. The typical six-string tuning of B-E-A-D-G-C provides deep low-end extension along with additional upper-register notes, making it an excellent choice for bassists who enjoy melodic soloing, complex chord voicings, and advanced techniques.

The additional low B string provides powerful bass frequencies for modern gospel, R&B, fusion, progressive rock, and contemporary worship music. Meanwhile, the high C string opens up exciting possibilities for melodic fills, chord melodies, tapping, and expressive solo performances.

One of the biggest advantages of a six-string bass is its versatility across musical styles. Whether you're holding down a deep, supportive groove or exploring more intricate musical arrangements, the expanded range allows you to cover more musical territory without constantly shifting positions.

KSD basses are especially appealing to players who enjoy modern jazz, gospel, funk, fusion, R&B, and progressive music. Their performance-focused design makes them suitable for technically demanding playing while retaining the fundamental low-end authority needed in a rhythm section.

The bass's extended fingerboard range is particularly useful for bassists who incorporate slap techniques, two-handed tapping, chordal playing, and melodic improvisation into their performances.

For recording musicians, a six-string bass provides additional flexibility when tracking complex arrangements. The low B string can deliver powerful foundational notes, while the upper strings make it easier to record melodic passages, harmonies, and higher-register bass lines.

In a studio environment, this KSD can be used for direct recording through an audio interface, traditional amplifier recording, modern gospel bass tracks, jazz fusion sessions, and progressive rock productions.

Its six-string layout also makes it a compelling instrument for bassists who want to explore solo bass arrangements or expand beyond conventional accompaniment.

Whether you're an experienced extended-range bassist, a gospel musician looking for greater tonal range, or a player ready to explore six-string bass techniques, the KSD 6-String Bass Guitar offers an exciting combination of musical flexibility, modern bass character, and expressive potential.
