Used Baxendale Sovereign Conversion 1175 Acoustic Guitar

Description

The Baxendale Sovereign Conversion 1175 is a distinctive acoustic guitar that combines the vintage character of a classic Sovereign instrument with the craftsmanship and tonal philosophy associated with respected guitar builder Scott Baxendale. For players who appreciate vintage acoustics with individuality, responsiveness, and a story behind them, this is an especially intriguing instrument.

Baxendale conversions are known for transforming older acoustic guitars into expressive, highly playable instruments through specialized rebuilding and voicing techniques. Rather than simply restoring an instrument cosmetically, the conversion process can involve substantial internal work intended to improve resonance, responsiveness, and overall musical performance.

The Sovereign name has a long history among vintage acoustic guitar enthusiasts. These guitars are appreciated for their classic styling, roots-music character, and connection to the folk and rock sounds of earlier decades.

What makes a Baxendale-converted Sovereign particularly interesting is the combination of an established vintage instrument platform with a more individualized approach to acoustic guitar construction and tone.

Baxendale's conversion work is often associated with reworked internal bracing and top voicing, intended to help the soundboard vibrate more freely. The resulting instruments can offer a lively, open acoustic response with the warmth and personality players seek in older guitars.

The Sovereign 1175 designation gives this instrument an additional point of interest for vintage guitar enthusiasts. Its exact original construction and the scope of its conversion should be confirmed through the guitar itself and any available documentation.

For fingerstyle players, a responsive acoustic guitar can provide excellent note separation, expressive dynamics, and the ability to bring out subtle variations in playing technique. Flatpickers and singer-songwriters may also appreciate the strong fundamental response and vintage-inspired tonal character associated with converted acoustics.

This guitar is especially well suited to folk, Americana, acoustic blues, roots rock, country, and singer-songwriter music. Its distinctive heritage makes it appealing to musicians who want something more personal than a conventional production-model acoustic.

In a recording studio, a Baxendale conversion can offer a unique acoustic voice for layered guitar tracks, intimate fingerpicked arrangements, and vintage-inspired productions. A characterful acoustic guitar can bring texture and individuality to recordings, particularly when captured with quality microphones.

Beyond its musical applications, the Baxendale Sovereign Conversion 1175 is an interesting choice for collectors and players who appreciate the intersection of vintage guitar history and specialized luthiery.

Whether you're searching for a distinctive acoustic guitar for recording, an inspiring instrument for songwriting, or a vintage conversion with an unusual background, the Baxendale Sovereign Conversion 1175 offers character, craftsmanship, and an individual playing experience.

The exact original manufacturer, production year, tonewoods, scale length, conversion work, and originality of components have not been independently verified. These details should be confirmed through the instrument's markings, physical inspection, and any available Baxendale documentation.

Condition

This Baxendale Sovereign Conversion 1175 acoustic guitar is used, tested, and fully functional. It shows normal signs of wear consistent with previous use and its vintage character, which may include scratches, scuffs, small dings, finish checking, pick marks, and other cosmetic signs of age and handling.

Please refer carefully to the photos for the exact condition of the top, back, sides, neck, fingerboard, frets, bridge, saddle, headstock, tuners, finish, and overall construction.

The guitar has been tested for general playability and acoustic performance.

Because this is a converted instrument, its current construction may differ substantially from the original Sovereign specifications. The precise extent of the conversion, previous repairs, and any replacement components should be established through documentation or a detailed inspection rather than assumed.

As with any used acoustic guitar, action, neck relief, saddle height, and setup preferences may vary. A personal setup may be desirable to suit your playing style.

Please verify whether a hardshell case, gig bag, conversion documentation, or other accessories are included from the photos.
