Used Vox AC50CP 50-Watt Tube Guitar Amplifier

Description

The Vox AC50CP is a powerful, versatile 50-watt tube guitar amplifier that combines classic British Vox character with modern high-gain capabilities. Part of the AC Custom Classic Plus series, the AC50CP offers the distinctive chime, rich harmonics, and responsive dynamics associated with Vox amplifiers, along with additional gain and flexibility for contemporary guitarists.

Featuring a 50-watt all-tube design, the AC50CP delivers the volume, headroom, and natural tube response needed for rehearsals, live performances, and studio recording. Its EL34-based power section provides a punchy, authoritative sound while retaining the expressive feel that tube amplifier enthusiasts appreciate.

The amplifier features two independent channels, allowing players to move between sparkling cleans, classic British crunch, and saturated overdrive.

Channel 1 emphasizes traditional Vox-style tones, delivering articulate cleans, warm breakup, and the familiar chime that works beautifully for blues, pop, indie, and classic rock. Channel 2 offers additional gain for thicker rhythm tones, aggressive rock sounds, and singing lead passages.

Each channel provides dedicated tone-shaping controls, making it easy to dial in contrasting sounds for rhythm and lead playing. The amp also features a master volume arrangement for balancing gain and overall output.

The AC50CP includes a switchable effects loop, providing flexibility when integrating delay, reverb, modulation, and other effects into a guitar rig.

Its responsive tube circuitry reacts naturally to picking dynamics and guitar volume adjustments, making it an excellent choice for players who want expressive control over their sound.

Whether you're chasing classic British rock tones, shimmering clean passages, or modern overdriven sounds, the Vox AC50CP delivers professional tube amplifier performance with the unmistakable personality of Vox.

The AC50CP is the amplifier head version of the AC Custom Classic Plus series and requires a compatible external speaker cabinet for normal operation.
