This EarthQuaker Devices Hizumitas delivers massive, saturated fuzz inspired by the legendary Japanese Elk Sustainar circuit. Designed in collaboration with Boris guitarist Wata, it produces thick walls of distortion with huge low end, smooth sustain, and a powerful, cutting top end that can go from doom laden rumble to soaring lead tones.

The simple three knob layout keeps things intuitive while offering a wide tonal range. Level controls overall output, Tone shapes the high end response, and Sustain dials in everything from gritty fuzz to full on, crushing saturation. It responds well to picking dynamics and guitar volume adjustments, making it surprisingly versatile for such a heavy sounding pedal.
