This is the real deal right here! This guitar is a piece of musical history and in nice playing condition on top of that!

It was re-fretted a while ago, and the volume potentiometer was replaced back in the '70s. This guitar began life as a custom-ordered blue strat, and then taken to a Fender approved re-finisher and painted Fiesta Red in the early 60s. (This guitar has been inspected and valued by Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville, TN. Certificate of Authenticity is included and in the pictures. See picture of appraisal for more info - transcribed below)

"Make/Model/Serial Number: 1959 Fender Stratocaster: Serial Number 48281.

Specifications: This instrument conforms to the catalog specifications for the make/model, 1959 Fender Stratocaster: Solid body guitar with dual cutaways, 3 pickups, one volume control, two tone controls, 3 way switch, bolt on maple neck with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, clay dot position markers, 3-ply "Green" pickguard,, "Fender Stratocaster" and "Original Contour Body" logos on headstock. The stock finish in 1959 was a 3-tone sunburst.

Condition: This instrument, in our opinion, has had the body of the guitar refinished Fiesta Red and the neck oversprayed with clear lacquer. The body shows traces of blue paint under the finish. The refinish was a professional job and may have been done at the midwest Fender Service Center (Tulsa, OK) in, or around 1963 or 64. The paint work on the body looks like factory Fender work but there is no "Refinished code" stamped, or written, on the body like Fender would do. The headstock logo is original. The guitar has been refretted and it ahs a new nut. It retains two original pots with the code: 3045948... Stackpole pots from the 48th week of 1959. The volume pot was changed in the 70s. The guitar comes with a mid-60's black Tolex Fender hardshell case, the original tremolo arm and the bridge cover"
