Used SLINGERLAND 4.5 X 14 8-Lug Snare Drum

This snare drum shows some examples of wear and modification. The badge dates it to 1953-1956, but we were unable to find any other split-lug models until the '60s. There was a run in the 1990s of piccolo snares with the same dimensions and hardware, and we believe this could be one of those that has been modified. The badge is loose enough to spin, which is why we think it was added on. There are some holes that have been plugged but are still visible. A previous owner removed the dampener, which explains a few of the holes. There is a chance this was originally wrapped, but has since been stripped and stained. The finish under the edges of the lugs is a bit bubbled-up.
