Late 80s early 90s Gretsch USA drum set in original Cherry Lacquer finish with silver sealer interiors and tightly matching serial numbers, including the snare drum. This is a complete, factory-matched outfit and an outstanding player-grade Gretsch kit.

This particular set comes with unique provenance: it was the personal drum kit of Gary Young, founding drummer of the band Pavement, acquired during the liquidation of his Louder Than You Think studio in Stockton, CA. A fantastic opportunity to own a documented working kit from an influential indie rock drummer, while also getting a classic Gretsch USA set with the tone and build quality players love.

Condition:

Good clean vintage condition with original lacquer finish. Hardware and shells present well for age. Some slight sun bleaching on some of the shells; we did our best to showcase in the 25 pictures allowed. Some blemishes on the shells as well with all significant ones shown in the photos. A fantastic sounding and highly usable Gretsch kit with desirable large rock sizes. Please review all photos for cosmetic condition and originality.

Provenance:

This drum set was owned and used by Gary Young, the founding drummer of Pavement, and was obtained directly during the liquidation of his Louder Than You Think studio. A rare chance to acquire a historically interesting artist-owned kit tied to the early independent rock scene.
