Description
Being sold as is with no returns. Powers on but passes no signal. Screws for tube cage are included.
The Fisher 80-AZ is a vintage mono tube power amplifier from the mid-1950s, designed as part of Fisher’s early high-fidelity home audio systems, delivering approximately 30 watts of power using push-pull tube circuitry (commonly EL37 or 6L6 variants) and known for its warm, musical tone and excellent transformer quality. It was intended to be paired with a separate preamp and tuner (such as the Fisher 80-C or 80-T), forming a modular hi-fi system typical of the era.
A standout feature is Fisher’s “Z-Matic” damping control and multiple feedback loops, which helped optimize speaker interaction and improve clarity and response—advanced engineering for its time. Today, the 80-AZ is considered a highly collectible piece of vintage audio gear, valued for both its historical significance and its smooth, open sound character often compared to other classic tube amplifiers.
