Reinhart Effects Emperor Cuzco Dual Overdrive

The Reinhart Effects Emperor Cuzco is a handmade boutique dual overdrive based on the highly sought-after Analog Man King of Tone circuit.

The Emperor Cuzco gives you two independently switchable overdrive channels in one enclosure, making it especially useful for stacking different gain levels. According to the documentation included with the pedal, the right side is configured as the lower-gain side while the left side is the higher-gain side.

Each channel provides its own Volume, Drive, and Tone controls, allowing the two sides to be set independently. You can use one side for lighter breakup or boost duties and the other for a stronger overdrive sound, then engage both channels together for additional gain and saturation.

One particularly useful feature of the Emperor Cuzco is its external clipping controls. The King of Tone traditionally places its clipping-mode switches inside the enclosure, while this design makes the clipping options accessible from the top of the pedal.

Each side has two clipping switches. According to the accompanying documentation, placing both switches down bypasses the clipping diodes, while the other switch positions provide soft-clipping and more compressed/harder-clipping options.
