Description:

Here's a great player-grade example of a sought-after 1985 Fender Made in Japan Stratocaster from the famous Fujigen factory. These E-Series guitars have earned an outstanding reputation for their build quality, comfortable necks, and excellent playability.

This guitar features a maple neck with maple fingerboard, three original Fender Japan single-coil pickups, original electronics, and the original Fender System I locking tremolo bridge.

Please read carefully:

This guitar functions properly and plays well, but it is not completely original.

The original Fender System I bridge is missing its fine tuner assembly, and the original locking nut has been removed. The guitar has been fitted with a standard nut and currently tunes and plays normally using the headstock tuners. The extra mounting holes from the original locking nut remain visible on the neck.

Replacement System I bridge parts can still be found, but they are becoming increasingly difficult and expensive to source. We've chosen to leave the guitar exactly as we received it so the next owner can decide whether to restore it or continue enjoying it as an excellent player.

Cosmetically, this Strat shows honest wear from nearly 40 years of use. There are numerous scratches, dings, finish chips, and scuffs throughout the body, including a larger finish chip on the lower rear edge exposing the wood. The maple fingerboard also shows several finish chips and marks from years of playing. None of the cosmetic wear affects functionality.

If you've been looking for a genuine mid-'80s Fujigen-built Fender Japan Stratocaster with tons of mojo at a price well below a collector-grade example, this is an excellent opportunity.
