Vintage 1960s Guyatone HG-96C Lap Steel Guitar Green w/ Legs & Hard Case – MIJ

This vintage Guyatone lap steel dates to the 1960s and features the distinctive styling and electronics associated with the Japanese-made HG-96C/HG-960 family.

Finished in a dark green color, this six-string lap steel features a metal fingerboard with Roman numeral position markers, dual single-coil pickups, individual pickup selector switches, and volume and tone controls.

Three threaded mounting points on the back allow the instrument to be used with the included removable legs for a traditional console-style playing position. The legs can also be removed for lap or tabletop use.

The instrument includes all three removable legs along with its vintage fitted hard case.

Condition:

This vintage Guyatone lap steel is in good used condition and shows cosmetic wear consistent with its age and previous use.

The dark green finish has a number of small nicks, chips, scratches and other marks throughout the body. Some of the more noticeable finish wear can be seen around the edges and lower portion of the instrument.

The metal control plate, pickup surrounds, bridge and other chrome hardware show scratches, tarnishing and age-related wear.

The three removable chrome legs are included. The legs and associated hardware show scratches, finish wear and areas of oxidation consistent with age and use.

The threaded leg mounting points on the back also show age-related oxidation and cosmetic wear.

The fitted hard case is included and shows substantial exterior wear from age and use. The exterior covering has numerous scuffs, scratches and worn areas, including tears/damage to portions of the covering and edge areas. The interior lining also shows normal age and wear.
