Used Gibson 1956 ES-225TD Vintage Electric Guitar Sunburst 6-String
Description
The 1956 Gibson ES-225TD is a landmark instrument marking the inaugural year of Gibson’s dual-pickup thinline hollowbody electric guitars. Combining a lightweight, 16-inch wide laminated maple body with a comfortable 1.875-inch rim depth, it features an elegant Florentine cutaway and dual f-holes. This model is uniquely distinguished by its early-era Les Paul combination trapeze tailpiece/bridge—where strings wrap under a solid metal bar—delivering impressive sustain, resonance, and an acoustic woody bite. Electronically, the "TD" variant expanded the versatility of its single-pickup predecessor by offering two powerful P-90 single-coil pickups with a standard four-knob control layout and a 3-way toggle switch. Supported by a robust one-piece mahogany neck and a bound rosewood fingerboard, this versatile "Golden Era" instrument effortlessly bridges the gap between warm jazz melodies and aggressive, gritty rock-and-roll blues.
The tuners were replaced with Grover’s. Includes original chipboard case.
