Description

Yngwie J Malmsteen

YJM 308 preamp overdrive pedal.

Excellent condition.

The DOD YJM308 Yngwie J. Malmsteen Preamp Overdrive is a signature pedal designed to replicate the Swedish virtuoso's signature "screaming" tone, based on the vintage DOD 250 Overdrive/Preamp. It features a simple two-knob design—Gain and Level—for boosting, driving, and adding, "rich harmonics" to a tube amplifier.

Key Features and Description

• Purpose: Specifically engineered to provide the high-gain, "tight" distortion needed for neo-classical, fast-playing, and legato styles.
• Controls: Simple Gain (amount of distortion) and Level (output volume) knobs allow for sounds ranging from a warm bluesy boost to intense, sustaining distortion.
• Sound: Known for a "compressed, rich, and singing" tone that works best as a boost in front of a Marshall amp. Compared to the standard DOD 250, the YJM308 often provides tighter, less low-end for better note definition during high-speed runs.
• Design: It is known for its durable, "tank-like" build
