The Rigoutat “J” is a top-tier professional oboe made by the French firm Rigoutat in collaboration with prominent oboists Jacques Tys and Jean-Claude Jaboulay. It’s built from African grenadilla wood, with silver-plated nickel silver keywork. The “J” model is designed to offer more power and easier playability without sacrificing the signature rich, singing Rigoutat tone — evenness across all registers (low to high), good projection, and flexibility in timbre.
