Used Gibson 2017 LES PAUL Electric Guitar Wood 6-String

This 2017 Gibson Les Paul Traditional in Honey Burst turned out to have some really interesting details when we inspected it. This model uses a solid, non-weight-relieved mahogany body topped with carved maple, giving it the heavy, sustaining tone Les Paul players love. The neck uses the comfortable 50s rounded profile with a rosewood fingerboard and classic trapezoid inlays.

Gibson introduced their “fast-access” contoured heel on the 2017 High Performance models, and while this Traditional doesn’t use that design, it does feature the factory squared/stepped heel carve Gibson used on some guitars during this era. This carve is a known production variation and gives the heel a slightly more angular look compared to the classic rounded style.

This guitar also has a professional full refret with the binding nibs removed. The fretwork is clean, smooth, and gives the guitar a more modern playing feel compared to the original medium-jumbo frets. Another standout feature is a matched set of Gibson CustomBucker Prototype pickups dated 08/22/19. These are the same vintage-voiced, low-output style pickups used in Gibson’s Historic models and are a major tonal upgrade. Inside, the wiring is clean and original aside from the pickup swap, with orange drop caps and Gibson’s braided leads.

Overall, it’s a strong-sounding, great-playing Traditional with upgrades players will appreciate.

Condition

This guitar is in very good condition. There are finish-only lacquer checks at the neck joint, which are cosmetic and common with nitro finishes. The heel carve is a factory variation and not a modification or repair. Light playwear is present, and the Grover tuners show the slight angled alignment typical on Gibson installs. Electronics are clean and fully functional. No structural issues. The guitar does not include a case.

Expect normal cosmetic wear that may not show clearly in pictures. Since items are also available in-store, light demo wear may be present.
